RESPONSES

The Freedom of Information Act specifies response time for requests.

The SIU FOIA office has five (5) business days to respond to a request. According to section 3(e), the response time may be extended for no more than five (5) additional business days.

A commercial request response time is twenty-one (21) business days.

Under FOIA section 3.6, voluminous requests are allowed additional time and charges may apply. The requestor will be provided the opportunity to modify a voluminous request.

Responses are provided electronically or as paper copies. If you do not provide an email address, your response will be postmarked no later than the tenth day of the processing time.
